Softball Wraps Up Play at the Rebel Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla.—The Big Red softball team wrapped up play at the Rebel Spring Games Saturday afternoon with wins against Rider and Wisconsin-Green Bay. Cornell improves to 19-5 for the season and has won its last eight games.
 
Against Rider Cornell won 8-0 in six innings, freshman Lauren Marx earned the win in 4.3 innings. She allowed two hits and struck out one batter. Nikki Dulaney also pitched for Cornell for one and two-thirds inning.
 
Junior Elise Menaker went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a double. Senior Jessy Berkey led Cornell with three runs and a double and went 2-for-3 at the plate. Shannon Crane went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Morgan Cawley went 2-for 3 with a run and an RBI.
 
Against Wisconsin-Green Bay, Cornell won 10-1. Ali Tomlinson struck out six batters allowing three hits and one run. Elizabeth Dalrymple pitched one and two thirds inning, allowing no hits and no runs.
 
Berkey went 3-for-4 with one RBI, Meg Risica added two RBI with one hit. Both Nicole Cheever and Erica Gaeta hit doubles. Menaker went 3-for-3 with one run.
 
Cornell will open Ivy play next weekend playing host to Brown and Yale.
