Karpenko's Two Goals Power Big Red Past Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. -- Chelsea Karpenko scored a pair of goals and added an assist to lift the Cornell women's hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. The win moves Cornell to 9-7-3 on the year and 8-1-3 in ECAC Hockey play, tying the Big Red with Clarkson atop the league standings.

Laura Fortino also added a goal and an assist for the Big Red, while Lauriane Rougeau and Catherine White both chipped in one assist. Amanda Mazzotta stopped 25 shots in net for the Big Red, which went 2-for-4 on the power play for the day.

Sarah Parsons scored the lone goal for the Big Green, scoring a power-play tally with 11 seconds left in the second period, just the second power-play goal conceded by Cornell this season. Dartmouth finished 1-for-6 on the power play, while netminder Mariel Lacina stopped 25 shots in taking the loss for the Big Green.

Cornell returns to action on Friday when it heads to Colgate for a 3 p.m. contest against the Raiders in the annual home-and-home weekend.
