ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell University women's rowing team will play host to Yale and Syracuse on Friday, April 2, on the Cayuga Lake Inlet as the varsity-8 crews compete for The Cayuga Cup. The following day, the Big Red will race against Buffalo, Gonzaga and Michigan State.

THE CAYUGA CUP: Yale and Cornell began racing in 1976, with Syracuse joining in 1978. In 2003, Cornell created the Cayuga Cup for the winner of the Varsity 8 race.

YALE/SYRACUSE SERIES HISTORY: Cornell has won the Varsity 8 race against Yale and Syracuse six times since 1976, but has yet to win the Cayuga Cup, as the Bulldogs have earned seven-straight. The Big Red has placed second four times, most recently during the 2008 season.

BUFFALO/GONZAGA/MICHIGAN STATE SERIES HISTORY: The Big Red's varsity-8 has never faced Buffalo, Gonzaga or Michigan State in a head-to-head race.
