ITHACA, N.Y. -- Tyler Roeszler scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner 1:21 into overtime, to give the Cornell men's hockey team a 3-2 overtime victory over Dartmouth on Saturday night at Lynah Rink. The win lifted the Big Red into a tie with Dartmouth for third place in the league standings with just two games remaining in the regular season.

Locke Jillson scored the third goal for the Big Red (13-11-3, 11-7-2 ECAC Hockey) on the night, while Joe Devin, Nick D'Agostino and Greg Miller each added one assist. Andy Iles got the victory in goal, stopping 31 shots, and Cornell finished the night scoreless in four power-play chances.

For Dartmouth (15-9-3, 11-7-2), Nick Walsh and Scott Fleming scored goals, with Fleming's coming as his 100th career point. Adam Estoclet and Doug Jones added one assist each, and James Mello stopped 24 shots in taking the loss for the Big Green. Dartmouth closed out the night scoreless in three power-play chances.

Following a scoreless first period, Dartmouth got on the board first in the second when Walsh scored off a scramble in front of the Cornell net just 3:52 into the period. Roeszler then got the tying goal with 30 seconds left in the second, as D'Agostino sent a puck to Joe Devin, where it caromed up and off Roeszler's chest and into the open goal, knotting the score at one after two periods.

In the third, Jillson put Cornell ahead at the 2:34 mark, backchecking to steal the puck in his own zone and racing down the ice, wedging himself between the goal and a Dartmouth defenseman to beat Mello on a race to the back post, staking the Big Red to a 2-1 lead. That lead held until the 15:11 mark when Fleming fired a shot from the bottom of the faceoff circle to the left of Iles that was saved, but the loose puck was knocked into the Cornell goal by D'Agostino, knotting the score at two and sending the game to overtime.

In the extra session, a mistimed Dartmouth line change found the puck deep in the Big Green zone with Roeszler putting pressure on the play. The puck was sent around behind the back of the goal by the Dartmouth defense, but Miller intercepted it in the corner and fired the puck on goal, where Mello made the stop. But Roeszler, who had gone straight to the front of the net, was there to poke the rebound underneath the junior goaltender, sending Cornell to the Senior Night victory.

Saturday night's game marked the final home regular-season contest for Cornell seniors Joe Devin, Mike Devin, Patrick Kennedy, Dan Nicholls and Tyler Roeszler, along with junior Jordan Kary, who will graduate early this May.

The Big Red closes out the regular season next weekend, traveling to Brown and Yale for a pair of 7 p.m. contests. The Big Red will face Brown on Friday in Providence, R.I., before taking on Yale in the regular-season finale in New Haven, Conn.
