THE HEAD COACH
Coach Terry Cullen is now in his 46th season at the helm of the Big Red program with a 161-124-7 record (.563). Cullen has been a member of the coaching staff since 1964 and officially became the Terry Cullen Head Coach of Sprint Football in 2001.

THE CO-HEAD COACH
In August 2008, Cornell announced that Bart Guccia would assume a majority of the on-field coaching and gameday decisions for the Big Red. Guccia is now in his sixth year with the team and has posted a 14-8 record (.636) in his new role.

ABOUT PRINCETON
The Tigers, based in Princeton, N.J., are winless through the first two games of the season and winless since 2005. The team has just one win in the last 11 years. Princeton was shut out by Penn 34-0 in its season opener and fell 40-2 last week to Mansfield. The Tigers are led by first-year head coach Stephen Everette.

THE SERIES WITH PRINCETON
Cornell has played Princeton more than any opponent except Penn, facing off with the Tigers 89 times. The Big Red holds a commanding 58-27-4 advantage in the series and has won 11 consecutive games between the two and 15 of the last 16. Cornell defeated Princeton 33-14 last season, outrushing the Tigers 116-8 and outpassing them 154-115. Elliot Corey and Nick Perez each had a rushing touchdown and Brendan Miller had a passing touchdown to Spenser Gruenenfelder.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
In two games this season, Princeton has scored just two points, earned on a safety against Mansfield. The Tigers have been outrushed 630-57 but have thrown for more passing yards than their opponents. The team's leading rusher, Kevin Infante, has 117 neet yards through two games with a long of 17. Quarterback Jaison Zacharias has completed 18 passes for 226 yards but has also thrown four interceptions. Kees Thompson is his top target with eight catches for 103 yards. Kicker Nick Martin has not made a field goal in two tries, and defensive back John Moffat leads Princeton with 24.5 tackles and an interception.

A WIN OVER THE TIGERS WOULD...
…bring Cornell up to second place in the CSFL standings…bring Cornell's winning streak against Princeton to 12 games…keep the Red from a losing record for the first time since Oct. 10, 2009.

LAST TIME OUT
The Big Red controlled most of its game against Post on Friday, but the team fell apart in the fourth quarter. The visiting Eagles ruined Cornell's home opener by scoring 19 points in the final period and coming back for a 25-20 win after trailing the entire game. Cornell was led on offense by quarterback Tim Bruhn, who replaced Miller, and receiver Abe Mellinger. But four turnovers in the game ultimately undid the Red's efforts in a sloppy, wet night when even sure-footed kicker John Rodriguez missed two field goals of 45 yards.

SEASON-OPENING WIN
Cornell kicked off its season with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in Pennsylvania against Mansfield. The Mounties held a 23-20 advantage entering the fourth quarter before the Big Red scored 17 unanswered points to win 37-23. Abe Mellinger started the fourth quarter with a 50-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Brendan Miller. Kicker John Rodriguez followed with a 31-yarder to increase Cornell's lead to a touchdown, and then Michael Monahan finished things off with a 45-yard touchdown reception.

CATCHING THEM OFF GUARD
Mellinger, in his first two games with the Big Red, caught eight 215 yards, a number that tops the CSFL. He also has four touchdown receptions to lead Cornell with 24 points. Mellinger also claims 31 punt return and 71 kick return yards, giving him 317 total yards on the year that is more than double the team's next highest. His 26.9 yards per catch tops the CSFL. Mellinger, a transfer from Junianta College, calls Ronks, Pa., home.

TACKLING MACHINES
Sophomore linebacker John Kelder, with 18 tackles, leads Cornell and is fourth overall in the CSFL. Kelder's two interceptions also rank him second in the league, and his efforts have contributed to a Cornell team that ranks second overall in team defense.  Senior linebacker Timothy Dooley and senior defensive lineman Colin Lounsberry are also near the top of the CSFL in total tackles. The two are tied for second with 10 tackles apiece. Dooley has six individual tackles while Lounsberry has four individual tackles, a sack and 1.5 tackles for loss. Lounsberry has two sacks and 17 total tackles while Dooley has 15 tackles and one sack.

STILL NEAR THE TOP
Even though he didn't play in week two, quarterback Brendan Miller is still has the second-most passing yards in the CSFL.

NATIONAL APPEAL
The sprint football team has players from 14 different states on the roster, with New York and California having the highest representation. Twenty-four players hail from the Empire State while the Golden State has 12 players on the Big Red roster. Just one player comes from Hawaii, North Carolina and Oklahoma.

UP NEXT
Cornell finishes its three-game homestand with an Oct. 14 contest against CSFL rival Army. The game is set for a 7 p.m. start time.
