MADISON, Wis.  – Facing its greatest challenge of the season, the Big Red women's cross country team had a phenomenal race at the Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, placing fifth in a large field with some of the top-ranked teams in the  country.

Sorna and Shearer both finished ahead of all other Ivy League individuals.

Kate Rosettie (130th, 20:59) and Caroline Kellner (172nd, 21:12) also ran well for the Big Red and helped keep other teams from scoring more points.

Freshman Laura Hollander won the race for Cal Poly.
