THE MATCHUP: Coming off an impressive victory over Manhattan on Tuesday night in Newman Arena, the Cornell women's basketball team will hit the road for a pair of games this week. The Big Red will face New Hampshire on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m., before heading to St. Francis (N.Y.) for a game on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m.  Cornell enters the week with a 3-2 record, while the Wildcats and the Terriers have identical marks of 2-1.

THE SERIES VS. NEW HAMPSHIRE: The Wildcats hold the all-time advantage against the Big Red, 3-0, winning the first outing, 79-57, on Dec. 4, 1993 in the Cornell/Sheraton Classic at Newman Arena, before narrowly defeating Cornell (75-72 in 2005; 63-62 in 2011).

CORNELL VS. THE AMERICAN EAST: Cornell improved to 16-20 all-time vs. the current members of the America East Conference, after beating Binghamton earlier this season. The Big Red holds a winning record vs. Albany (5-1) and UMBC (2-0), while its series record with Stony Brook (1-1) is tied. Cornell holds a losing mark vs. Binghamton (5-8), Maine (0-1), New Hampshire (0-3) and Vermont (3-6), but has never faced Boston University or Hartford ... Coach Smith is 5-10 all-time vs. the America East.

THE SERIES VS. ST. FRANCS (N.Y.): Cornell holds the lead in the all-time series with the Terriers, 5-1. The Big Red won the first-ever meeting, 74-48, in the 1985-86 season, but St. Francis earned its lone win in the series the following season, defeating Cornell, 49-44.

CORNELL VS. THE NORTHEAST CONFERENCE: Cornell is 23-7 all-time vs. the current members of the Northeast Athletic Conference. The Big Red has never faced Quinnipiac and is tied in the all-time series with Central Connecticut State (1-1), but holds a winning record vs. every other member, including Bryant (1-0), Farleigh Dickenson (2-0), Long Island (3-1), Monmouth (2-1), Mt. St. Mary (1-0), Robert Morris (2-0), Sacred Heart (1-0), St. Francis (N.Y.) (5-1), St. Francis (Pa.) (3-2) and Wagner (2-1) ... Coach Smith is 7-3 all-time vs. the NEC.

LAST TIME VS. THE WILDCATS:
• Kelsey Hogan's desperation putback with no time on the clock stunned the Big Red and handed New Hampshire a 63-62 victory on Nov. 22, 2011 at Newman Arena.
• Prior to Hogan's last second shot, Maka Anyanwu hit a 10-foot baseline jumper that gave Cornell a one-point lead with seven seconds to play in the contest.
• Cornell was led by Allyson DiMagno, who finished the game with 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals.
• Anyanwu and Shelby Lyman finished with 14 points apiece.
• Anyanwu went 7-for-8 from the field and also chipped in four rebounds and one steal.
• Lyman hit four of Cornell's five 3-pointers in the game, had three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Spencer Lane also had a solid game, scoring six points, handing out six assists, grabbing four rebounds and coming up with one steal.
• UNH had a pair of double-digit scorers as Denis Beliveau and Hogan finished with 18 and 15 points, respectively.
• Beliveau also finished with a game-high 10 rebounds to help the Wildcats to a 34-29 advantage on the boards.
• UNH hit 45.1 percent from the floor for the game (23-51) and 50 percent from beyond the arc (8-16).
• Cornell connected on 46 percent overall (23-50) and 50 percent from 3-point range (5-10).
• Defensively, the Big Red forced 18 Wildcat turnovers with 10 steals, leading to 29 points for Cornell off turnovers.

LAST TIME VS. THE TERRIERS:
• Cornell defeated St. Francis (N.Y.), 59-48, on Nov. 24, 2008 at Newman Arena
• Senior Shannan Scarselletta registered team-highs with 14 points and eight rebounds, while handing out a career-high five assists and matching a career-high with five steals.
• Junior Virginia McMunigal kept the Big Red in the game early-on with 10 first-half points before finishing the evening with 13 points and six rebounds, while classmate Lauren Benson tallied 10 points and handed out eight assists.
• SFC was led by Kara Ayers and Kendra Williams with 19 and 11 points, respectively, while Kristin Leitheuser grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
• Cornell shot 42.3 percent from the floor and an impressive 44.4 percent from the arc, while holding the Terriers to just 26.2 percent from the floor and 21.1 percent from three-point range.
• SFC held the slight edge in rebounds, 41-38, and forced 17 Big Red turnovers with six steals, while turning the ball over just 13 times.
• The game featured five ties and seven lead changes in the first half of play, but Cornell opened the second half with a 10-2 scoring run to take a commanding lead that it would not relinquish.

BIG BOARDS: Junior Allyson DiMagno pulled down 19 rebounds vs. Manhattan on Nov. 20, just five rebounds less than the entire Lady Jasper squad. The 19 rebounds were the most by a Big Red player since Patti Froehlich had 21 rebounds against St. Francis (Pa.) during the 1988-89 season.

FLYNN FOR 26: Senior Taylor Flynn led the Big Red against Manhattan with 26 points, the most points scored by a Cornell player since Flynn notched 26 points against Harvard during her rookie season on Feb. 19, 2010.

100 WINS: Head Coach Dayna Smith is already the winningest coach in Cornell history, but now she has reached another milestone, as the team's 70-60 victory over Manhattan on Nov. 20 was her 100th victory as a head coach.

PRESSURE FREE THROWS: Cornell has struggled a bit from the free throw line, connecting on just 70.5 percent of its chances, but the Big Red has seen that percentage improve significantly at the end of close games. In the final five minutes of games decided by 10 or fewer points, Cornell is shooting 77.2 percent (17-of-22) from the foul line.

CLOSE CALLS: Since the beginning of the 2010-11 season, the Big Red has had 23-of-61 games (37.7%) decided by eight points or fewer. In those games, Cornell has posted a 12-11 record.

BLOCKS A LOT: Senior Clare Fitzpatrick currently sits in 10th place in Cornell history for career blocks (53), having surpassed classmate Kristina Danielak, who is now sitting in 11th place with 50 blocks.

I'LL TAKE THAT: So far this season, Cornell has averaged 6.8 steals per game, down from last year when the Big Red averaged 8.4 steals per game. Last season's total was the best team average since the 2001-02 team finished the year with 11.0 steals per game.

HELPING HAND: So far this season, the Big Red has assisted on 66-of-101 baskets (65.3%), which is slightly up from last year when Cornell had assists on 366-of-576 baskets (64%).

STARTING STREAK: Junior Allyson DiMagno has a 56-game starting streak, which is by far the longest current active streak on the team, nearly doubling senior Spencer Lane's 35-game streak.

RACE TO 1,000/500: Senior Clare Fitzpatrick is aiming to become the seventh player in Cornell history and second ever under head coach Dayna Smith to register at least 1,000 points and 500 rebounds for her career. She currently has 906 points and 487 rebounds.

LOW PERCENTAGE SHOTS: So far this season, Cornell has held four of its five opponents to below 40 percent shooting from the floor. The Big Red closed the 2011-12 season by holding its opponents to 40 percent or below from the floor in 12 of its final 18 games.

100 THREES: For the past five seasons, Cornell has hit at least 100 3-pointers as a team. The Big Red has registered at least 100 3-pointers in all but one season under head coach Dayna Smith, with the 2006-07 squad coming up just short with 98 treys.

PRESEASON HONORS: Clare Fitzpatrick and Allyson DiMagno were both named to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Ivy team, with Fitzpatrick earning first-team honors and DiMagno snagging a place on the second-team.

HI, MY NAME IS: Cornell has a new face on the bench for the 2012-13 season, as Daan de Heus joins the women's basketball staff as an assistant coach. A native of Eindhoven, The Netherlands, de Heus played for the Dutch national youth basketball teams before going on to serve as an assistant coach for the Netherlands at the 2009 high school basketball world championships, held in Istanbul, Turkey. He was also the head basketball coach of a variety of youth and senior basketball teams at Almonte, from 2005-2011, wining two championships at the U16 and U18 level.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK: The Big Red adds three players to the 2012-13 squad: Allison Bockrath (Dayton, Ohio), Molly Meriggioli (Waunakee, Wisc.) and Jen Wahleithner (Highlands Ranch, Colo). The class of three come from three different states and consists of two guards and one forward.

UP NEXT: Cornell returns to Ithaca to take on Morgan State at Newman Arena on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. The game will be the final contest before the annual study break.
