NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The men's squash team finished eighth this weekend at the College Squash Association's national championship, the Potter Cup. The Big Red wrapped up tournament play Sunday with a 5-4 loss to Franklin & Marshall.
Cornell (16-6) got off to a good start against the Diplomats, winning two matches in the opening shift to take a 2-1 lead. Sophomore
Michael Sunderland moved up to the No. 3 position for the first time this season, outlasting Ryan Mullaney for a 16-14 victory in the first game before defeating his opponent in four games. Junior
Bryan Keating then locked up his third win of the weekend with a three-game sweep of Alexander Arjoon at the No. 6 spot.
F&M tied the match at 3 heading into the final shift after winning a pair of five-game matches at the Nos. 2 and 8 spots. Sophomore
Ryan Todd accounted for the Big Red's third point with a four-game victory over Antonio De La Torre at No. 5.

Owen Butler recorded Cornell's fourth point with a four-game win at No. 4, but the Diplomats were able to pull through with wins at Nos. 1 and 7.
The Big Red will conclude its season next weekend at the annual College Squash Association Individual Championships, hosted by Trinity in Hartford, Conn.
