Dena Tanenbaum won titles in both 'A' singles and 'A' doubles Sunday, highlighting the final day of the Cornell Fall Invitational for women's tennis. The Big Red won four of the five available titles.
Freshman
Lizzie Stewart won the 'B' singles crown after topping classmate
Alyssa Boey, 6-2, 6-1, in the final. The two had just teamed up earlier in the day in the 'A' doubles final, losing in a tiebreaker against Tanenbaum and freshman
Priyanka Shah. In the other all-Cornell championship tilt, Tanenbaum outlasted Cusick in a lengthy 'A' singles final, 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-2.
In 'B' doubles, sophomores
Marika Cusick and
Kristin Quill were the top tandem in 'B' doubles. They beat Binghamton's Annie DiMuro and Olga Ostrovetsky in the final, 8-5. In the lone bracket without a Cornell presence in the final, Buffalo's Dayana Agasieva defeated teammate Christine Haraldson, 6-4, 6-2, for the 'C' singles crown.
Next up for the Big Red is the Akron Invitational from Oct. 3-5.
