ALFRED, N.Y. --- In its final show of the fall portion of its schedule, Cornell equestrian finished as High Point team at the Alfred University Show, marking the second straight week and the third time this semester that the Big Red took home a team win.

Cornell was led by sophomore
Jenna Beobide and junior
Marissa Rice, who earned High Point Rider and Reserve High Point Rider, respectively. Beobide posted individual wins in Novice Fences and Novice Flat, while Rice took first in Intermediate Fences and Intermediate Flat.

Junior Gabby Stephenson posted the Big Red's first individual win of the day, placing first in Open Fences with senior Tori Whitworth right behind in second. Senior
Reina Baizan then took first in Intermediate Fences in her season debut before senior
Meridith Meyer won Open Flat with junior
Chelsea Huss claiming third. In addition to Rice's win in Intermediate Flat, freshman
Vaughan Shanley also took first in the same event. In Novice Fences, seniors
Susan Rhodes and
Katrina Donahue finished first and second while junior
Lauren Jaquay also won Novice Flat. Sophomore
Callie Boozer had an impressive debut in the Walk Trot, taking first place.

Huss and Meyer also finished second and fifth in Open Fences, respectively. In Intermediate Flat, Junior
Amanda Ko and senior
Katie Smith placed second and fourth in one round while sophomore
Molly O'Shea and Donahue finished in the same spots in the next round. Sophomore
Megan He and freshman
Emily Selland added third- and sixth-place finishes in Novice Fences. Junior Gabby Rutkauskas and Rhodes finished second and fifth in Novice Flat. Freshman
Laura Vasquez-Bolanos and junior Nicole Zitzman both had second-place finishes in Walk Trot and Advanced Walk Trot Canter, respectively, with sophomore Sunjana Sundaram and junior
Anne Case placing third and fourth in Advanced Walk Trot Canter.

Having closed the fall half of the season on a high note, the Big Red will look toward the spring portion of the schedule, which begins with a home show on Feb. 21.
