* tie the Class of 2017 with the Class of 2011 as the winningest class in program history with 42 career victories.
* give Cornell a season-best four-game winning streak.

* improve head coach Donna Hornibrook to 9-4 all-time vs. the Big Green.

THE SERIES WITH DARTMOUTH: The Big Green holds a commanding lead in the series with Cornell, going 22-14-1 against the Big Red. The teams first met in 1979, a 0-0 tie, and Dartmouth won the next five meetings before Cornell snapped its losing streak in 1985 with a 1-0 victory. From then, the series was fairly even until 1998 when Dartmouth began an eight-game winning-streak against the Big Red. Cornell ended the Big Green's run in 2006 and won five straight, its most consecutive wins in the series, before falling in consecutive one-goal games (including one overtime contest) in 2011 and 2012 … The Big Red has won the last three outings by a combined score of 12-5 to improve head coach Donna Hornibrook improved to 8-4 in the series.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN: Dartmouth has lost two consecutive games, and nine of its last 10 overall, to slip to 4-12 on the season (0-6 Ivy). Half of the Big Green's goals (14-of-28) have come from Carmen Braceras and Morgan Philie with seven goals apiece, while Sarah Tabeek has a team-high eight assists. Dartmouth has used two goalies during the course of the season – freshman Emma Plumb and sophomore Hailey Valerio. The rookie has seen the majority of minutes, playing in 15 games and making nine starts, but Valerio has started three of the Big Green's last four contests. Plumb has posted a 4.60 goals-against average and a .735 save percentage, while Valerio owns a 4.94 GAA and a .744 save percentage.

LAST TIME VS. DARTMOUTH:  The only time the Big Red led at Dartmouth on Nov. 7, 2015, it proved to be the only time that mattered, as Katie Carlson's overtime goal handed Cornell the 5-4 victory. The Big Red came back three times in the game, including erasing a 4-2 Dartmouth lead in the final 9:21 of the contest to force overtime.  Katy Weeks scored once, tying the game at 4-4 with less than four minutes to play, and then set up the game winner, as she carried the ball into the circle and ripped a reverse-stick shot on goal that was saved by Paige Duffy before Carlson calmly collected the rebound and scored. Duffy was incredible, finishing with 15 saves, and getting three defensive saves from her teammates as Cornell held the significant 23-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Big Red also had the significant edge in shots (29-7) and penalty corners (14-3). Dartmouth scored just 1:26 into the contest when Eliza Becker converted from close range to put the home team up early. Less than two minutes later, Marisa Siergiej tied the game for the first time at 1-1 on a direct shot off a penalty corner. The Big Green took the lead once again in the eighth minute, but again Cornell answered almost immediately with Mayers tying the school record for single season goals at the 12:03 mark. The Big Red had numerous chances to take the lead with a 16-3 edge in shots over the first 35 minutes, but couldn't figure out Duffy and the teams entered the half knotted at 2-2. Cornell continued to carry the run of play early in the second half, but back-to-back Dartmouth goals in a span of less than seven minutes put the home team up 4-2 with less than 13 minutes to play. The Big Red's comeback started with Marisa Siergiej's second goal of the game on a beautifully placed penalty corner sweep at the 60:31 mark to bring the visitors back within one at 4-3. Less than six minutes later, Weeks ripped a penalty corner strike into the goal to set up the overtime.

HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL-STAR: Katy Weeks has been selected to participate in the 2016 Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game. One of four players to be selected out of the Ivy League, Weeks becomes the fifth Big Red player to be selected over the past seven seasons, joining Catie DeStio '10, Alex Botte '11, Hannah Balleza '13 and Marisa Siergiej '16. One of the best midfielders in the Ivy League since her arrival on East Hill, Weeks is a three-time All-Ivy selection, including a first-team honor to go along with a Mideast Region All-American selection a year ago.

10 WINS: Cornell has won at least 10 games in eight of Coach Hornibrooks' 12 seasons. She is the only field hockey coach in Big Red history to lead the team to a single 10-win season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Krysten Mayers was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after helping the Big Red upset No. 13 Princeton, 3-2, in double overtime last weekend. The junior forward posted her second career hat trick, scoring all three goals, including the double-overtime game-winner, in the upset of the Tigers. She earns the Big Red's first Player of the Week award since Marisa Siergiej took home the honor on Oct. 28, 2014.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Freshman Kirsten Pienaar was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Oct. 10. It was the first weekly honor of the season for Cornell and the first Rookie of the Week award won by a Big Red player since Isabel Siergiej on Oct. 27, 2015. Pienaar won the honor after registering her first collegiate goal vs. Yale, scoring the game-winner on a penalty stroke.

RANKED OPPONENTS: The Big Red's schedule features four teams that are ranked in the latest NFHCA Division I Poll – No. 2 Syracuse, No. 13 Stanford, No. 16 Harvard and No. 18 Princeton … Cornell has gone 1-3 in those games thanks to a 3-2 double overtime victory vs. No. 13 Princeton on Oct. 29, 2016.

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE (A NEW) HOME: The Big Red is 46-25 all-time on Marsha Dodson Field. Collectively, the team has outscored its opponents by a margin of 161-111 and has taken significantly more shots (1,217-744) than its opponents. The defense has been equally solid in the circle, allowing just 379 penalty corners (5.3 per game).

TEAM NCAA RANKINGS: The Big Red entered the week ranked in the nation's top 30 in …
* Goals against average – 29th (1.84)
* Shutouts per game – 29th (0.19)

INDIVIDUAL NCAA RANKINGS:
* Kelly Johnson ranks 33rd in goals-against average (1.99).
* Krysten Mayers ranks 63rd in assists per game (0.44).
* Krysten Mayers ranks 53rd in goals per game (0.63).
* Katie Carlson ranks 83rd in goals per game (0.50).
* Krysten Mayers rank 39th in points per game (1.69)
* Katie Carlson ranks 70th in points per game (1.38)

ONE OF THE BEST: Head coach Donna Hornibrook ranks among the best when it comes to winning. Among active Division I head coaches, she ranks 17th overall for winning percentage (.629) and 17th for career wins (229), rankings that would be higher if the NCAA counted her 60-8-6 record at Canada's New Brunswick.

BALANCED ATTACK: Of the 15 field players on the roster that have seen action this season, 13 have registered at least one point.

KNOCK THREE TIMES: When the Big Red fell to Penn, 4-3, on Sept. 21, 2013 it marked only the fourth time in Coach Hornibrook's career with Cornell that the team scored three goals and lost the contest. Under Coach Hornibrook, the Big Red is 77-4 in games in which it scores at least three goals, a mark that was raised when it defeated No. 13 Princeton (3-2) on Oct. 29.

EARLY LEADS: Scoring first has been a big part of the Big Red's success in recent years. Since Coach Hornibrook has taken over the program, Cornell has posted an impressive 101-14 record in games in which they have scored first. Conversely, the team has won only 17 games in which they have had to come back from an early deficit to win. The first was Coach Hornibrook's very first victory with the team, a 6-3 win over Lehigh in 2004, with the latest coming on Oct. 23, 2016 as Cornell overcame an early 1-0 deficit to defeat Rider, 3-1.

CLOSE CALLS: Cornell's 3-2 double overtime win against No. 13 Princeton on Oct. 29 continued the Big Red's trend of playing in one-goal games. Since the start of the 2006 season, the Big Red has lost 72 games, with 43 of those coming by a single goal (.606), including 18 in overtime. During that same span, Cornell has won 97 games, with 46 coming in one-goal games (.474), including 13 in overtime.

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: Senior Katy Weeks and junior Sam McILwrick have been selected as team captains for the 2016 season.

RETURNING REGIONAL ALL-AMERICANS: Cornell returns a pair of Mideast Region All-American second-team selections to the roster in senior Katy Weeks and junior Krysten Mayers.

BIG RED INTERNATIONAL: Juniors Sam McILwrick and Krysten Mayers were selected to represent Canada and Barbados, respectively, as members of those nation's Under-21 teams that participated at the 2016 Pan American Junior Championship.

RECAPPING 2015: For the first time in program history, the Big Red closed a campaign with a top 20 RPI and a top 20 strength of schedule (SOS), finishing at 19th overall in both categories. Cornell finished the 2015 season with a record of 11-6 overall and a mark of 5-2 in the Ivy League, good for second place in the conference standings. Of its six losses, four came to nationally ranked teams that made the NCAA tournament field, including three that finished in the top 10 of the RPI. Additionally, the Big Red's 11 wins tied the school record for victories in a season, previously set three times (2008, 2010, 2014), and the team set new school standards for points (147), goals (50) and assists (57).
