ITHACA, N.Y. — The women's tennis team evened its record Saturday afternoon with a thorough 7-0 victory over NJIT at Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red is now 2-2.
 
Cornell improved to 4-0 all-time against NJIT (0-3), and for a second straight season all six singles matches were decided in straight sets. The Big Red started the day with three convincing victories in doubles, capped off by a 6-2 decision for junior Priyanka Shah and sophomore Mariko Iinuma from the No. 2 position to push them to 3-1 this year.
 
The Big Red then breezed through the singles matches in its final home match until March 4. Junior Madison Stevens led the way with a love-love victory at the No. 6 spot, and senior Alexandra D'Ascenzo (No. 2) and junior Lizzie Stewart (No. 5) also dropped no games in the first sets of their respective matches. Senior Marika Cusick clinched the match from the No. 1 position.
 
Up next for Cornell is next weekend's ECAC Indoor Championships, which run Friday through Sunday at Harvard's Beren Tennis Center. The draws and specific match information will be released early this week.
