ITHACA, N.Y. – Four members of the Cornell women's track and field team were named All-Ivy performers for the outdoor season, the league office announced in a release Wednesday morning. Senior
Briar Brumley (3000m steeplechase) and freshman
Beatrice Juskeviciute (heptathlon) earned first team honors, while senior
Eve Glasergreen (10,000m) and sophomore
Marguerite Lorenzo were tabbed to the second team.
Brumley took first in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of a seasonal best time of 10:12.61 at last weekend's outdoor Heps meet. The mark was under three seconds away from her personal best time of 10:09.96, which she set at last season's Heps meet
Juskeviciute took first place in the heptathlon, collecting a total of 5404 points, which was 148 more than the second place finisher. The Kaunas, Lithuania, native, who also won the pentathlon at the indoor Heps meet earlier this year, finished in the top-three of all seven events and earned three wins.
Glasergreen took second place in the 10,000m with a personal best time of 35:16.25. Glasergreen shed 1:20 off of her previous PR, in her first time running the event in three years.
In the high jump, sophomore
Marguerite Lorenzo took second place with personal best clearance of 1.76m (5-9.25 ft.). The mark ranks third all-time in the program's record book.
Cornell continues the championship portion of its schedule this weekend when it competes at the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Weaver Stadium in Princeton, New Jersey.
