ITHACA, N.Y. – Fresh off a pair of victories at RIT last weekend to open the 2021-22 campaign, the Cornell equestrian team is set to host the first of two back-to-back home shows on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y.

The Big Red excelled in route to not one, but two, High Point Team Titles at RIT on Oct. 16-17, as five Cornell riders recorded individual victories for the Big Red on Day One. Among them was Tara Tremmel, who finished the day tied for the title of Reserve High Point Rider after winning her limit fences class and finishing second in limit flat. Anjali Velu (open fences), Katherine Philipp (limit fences), Talia Aley (pre-novice), and Ashley Ardila (introductory) composed the other individual winners on the day. Aley's victory was perhaps most notable in the sense that it allowed her to point-out of pre-novice and into novice.

The Big Red kept things rolling on Day Two, tallying 11 top-three finishes. Ardila emerged victorious in introductory for the second-straight show, while senior Hannah Braun won her pre-novice class.

The following student-athletes will compete for the Big Red at home this weekend:

Talia Aley – Novice
Ashley Ardila – Introductory
Hannah Braun – Pre-novice
Bianca Garcia – Intermediate Flat, Intermediate Fences
Isabel Hall – Open Flat, Intermediate Fences
Annaliese Hines – Limit Flat, Intermediate Fences
Alexandra Miranda – Limit Flat, Limit Fences
Indigo Pavlov – Novice
Katherine Philipp – Limit Flat, Limit Fences
Catherine Thrasher – Novice
Tara Tremmel – Limit Flat, Limit Fences
Anjali Velu – Open Flat, Open Fences

The Cornell equestrian team will be back in action for another home show on Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Oxley Equestrian Center in Ithaca, N.Y.
