BOSTON, Mass. - The Cornell men's cross country team took a third-place finish on Saturday morning at the 2023 Ivy League Cross Country Heptagonal Championship.
Rhys Hammond (6th - 24:09),
Damian Hackett (9th -24:24), and Pierre Attiogbe (22nd - 24:48) were the top-three Big Red pacers to cross the tape at Franklin Park. Seven Cornell runners slotted in the top-half of finishers.
As a result of their top-14 finishes, Hammond (first-team) and Hackett (second-team) earned Ivy League cross country honors. Hammond receives the All-Ivy distinction for the second year in a row.
Jake Gelfand (27th - 22:20),
Tyler Canaday (35th - 25:24.4)),
Derek Amicon (36th - 25:24.7), and
Thomas Foster (39th - 25:30) joined Hammond, Hackett, and Attiogbe in the top-half of finishers at the Heptagonal Championship.
Harvard's Graham Blanks claimed the Heptagonal individual crown, ushering in his Ivy League counterparts through his home course. Princeton collected their third-straight Heps victory.
