ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing put up strong performances at the St. Mary's Women's Inter-Conference Regatta and Graham Hall Team Race, The Big Red finished fifth and eighth, respectively.
In Annapolis, Md., sailors
Bridget Green,
Sophia Devling,
Lauren Ehnot, and
Winborne Majetter, and skippers
Sophia Mulvania,
Kate Moran,
Sophia Pearce, and
Amelia Neumann combined to win six races on the weekend. The Big Red bested Tufts, Old Dominion, Tulane, Hobart and William Smith, George Washington, and Maritime.
In St. Mary's City, Md., Cornell competed in two different divisions in the regatta.
J.J. Smith and
Kit Harned combined for a second-place finish in the A Division, while
Maya Conway and
Clara Hewson finished 10th in the B Division, edging out Georgetown by a single point.
The Big Red returns to the waters next weekend when the team travels to Throggs Neck, N.Y. for the Admiral Moore Team Race and St. Mary's City for the Seahawk's Women's Team Race. Races are set to begin on Saturday, March 23, and will continue through Sunday, March 24.
