ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing wrapped up the final week before the start of the nationals stretch with two top-10 finishes and three additional All-MAISA honors. With races spanning Saturday and Sunday, Cornell cleaned up a ninth-place finish in the America Trophy, the MAISA open conference championship hosted this year by NY Maritime, and a 10th-place finish at the BDC Open Fleet Race, hosted by Harvard.

After the races, Cornell earned five more all-conference honors to add to the five awards garnered last weekend. Sophia Pearce, Amelia Neumann, and Sophia Mulvania were all honored as first-team open crew. Bridget Green and Winborne Majette followed suit, with each being named a second-team open skipper.

In Throggs Neck, N.Y., the Big Red totaled 253 points, just 11 shy of eighth place in the American Trophy. In Division A, Bridget Green skippered and Sophia Pearce crewed. The Pair combined for 139 points and a ninth-place finish. J.J. Smith and Amelia Neumann teamed up to place eighth in Division B, garnering 114 points.

In Cambridge, Mass., Cornell's 10th-place finish came off 271 points across three divisions, just three shy of ninth place. The Division A boat, skippered by Sophia Delving and crewed by Sophia Mulvania, finished 8th overall with 84 points. Winborne Majette skippered and Kit Harned crewed the Division B boat, which finished 12th with 108 points. Lauren Ehnot and Kate Moran wrapped up the Big Red sailors in Division C. The duo combined for a seventh-place finish on 79 points.

The Big Red now sets its sights on the national stage. Cornell takes to the waters next weekend, beginning on Saturday, April 27, to compete at the ICSA Women's Team Racing Nationals, hosted by Harvard.
