WILMINGTON, N.C. – The women's tennis team will head south for three non-league matches over Spring Break, starting with Monday afternoon's tilt against University of North Carolina Wilmington. The Big Red then dips into the Palmetto State for matches Thursday and Friday against College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina, respectively.

The Big Red (7-2) has won its last three matches, including a pair against Fairleigh Dickinson. The first was in the seventh-place match of the ECAC Indoor Championships, while the latter was on March 3 at Reis Tennis Center in Cornell's last match action. Sandwiched in between was a home victory over Binghamton.

Sophomore Ryann Young remains undefeated in singles, competing at the No. 3 spot through nine matches. The freshman doubles team of Rosemary Li and Sara Perelman is also a perfect 9-0 to date, while Li has also won all four No. 6 singles matches in which she's competed. Juniors Sarah O'Neil and Christine Ordway have exclusively played at the Nos. 1 and 2 spot so far.

UNC Wilmington (7-5) has spent time in the national rankings after topping then-No. 38 Georgia State on Feb. 25, but slipped out a couple weeks later. Winners of five of their last six, the Seahawks rebounded from a Thursday 4-3 loss to Wake Forest with a 6-1 victory over Old Dominion on Saturday. Angie Sekely is on a seven-match win streak from Nos. 2 and 3 positions, while Olga Blank has returned to the No. 1 spot after an extended absence.

College of Charleston is ranked 74th by Intercollegiate Tennis Association after improving to 13-4 with a sweep of Western Carolina on Sunday, its ninth straight victory. The Cougars are set to host No. 44 Oklahoma on Tuesday before taking on the Big Red. Christin Newman is 9-4 from the No. 1 spot, while Katie Lee is ranked 113rd by the ITA from her spot lower in the lineup.

Coastal Carolina is 10-1, with its lone loss coming to UNC-Greensboro on March 7. The Chanticleers are scheduled to visit Campbell on Monday before hosting the Big Red. Miki Bunea and Diana Mortlock have a combined 17-3 record from the top two spots.
