ABOUT THE BIG RED
Cornell picked up its second Ivy League win this past Saturday, with sophomore Tommy Griffin's goal in the 84th minute breaking a 1-1 deadlock with Princeton. Junior Jack Ferguson opened the scoring for the Big Red when he converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute. … Cornell's other conference win also came in dramatic fashion. Sophomore Allen Michael Capo netted his first career goal in overtime against Yale to give the Big Red the 2-1 win. … Cornell's wins out of conference came in a 2-1 overtime decision over Air Force en route to the CU Inaria Cup title and a 1-0 victory over Colgate. … Sophomore Jonathan Cullom leads the Big Red in points with a goal and two assists while junior Madison Heck has two goals and junior Jack Ferguson and sophomore Tommy Griffin each have a goal and an assist.

WORKING OVERTIME
Cornell is 2-1-1 in games that have needed extra time this season. The Big Red's only overtime loss came early in the season to Cleveland State, who scored on a penalty kick. Despite being a man down, Cornell held off Duquesne to preserve a scoreless double-overtime draw. Later that weekend, the Big Red rallied against Air Force to tie the game in regulation before snagging the win in overtime. In Ivy play, Yale evened the score in the 90th minute, but Allen Michael Capo put away a perfectly placed cross from Zach Bialik for Cornell's second overtime win.

PERFECT ON PKS
Cornell has been awarded two penalty kicks this season and has converted both. Junior Madison Heck scored from the penalty spot on Sept. 20 en route to a 2-1 overtime win over Air Force during the CU Inaria Cup. Then, on Oct. 31 at Princeton, junior Jack Ferguson's penalty kick goal helped the Big Red to another 2-1 victory.

YOUNG BLOOD
The Big Red has seen young players step into big roles this season. Freshmen Ryan Bayne has earned a spot on the backline, starting and playing nearly every minute of ten straight games. Classmates Ryan Watters and Walter Prince have seen their roles increase as well, seeing substantially more minutes as the season has progressed. A number of sophomores have also become key fixtures for Cornell, including Eric Nuss on the backline, Tommy Griffin in the midfield and Jonathan Cullom at forward. Cullom has a goal and two assists on the season while Nuss and Griffin each have a goal and an assist. Sophomore Allen Michael Capo had the golden goal in the Big Red's overtime win at Yale. In addition, Cornell's goalkeepers are a freshman (Rhys Moller) and a sophomore (Mitchell Meyer).

MEYER MAKING HIS MARK
After Cornell's win over Princeton, sophomore goalkeeper Mitchell Meyer is now 3-2 on the season. Meyer has seen time in seven of the Big Red's contests and currently holds a 1.03 goals-against average and .829 save percentage, including a shutout against Colgate.

RHYS'S CUP
Freshman goalkeeper Rhys Moller was named the CU Inaria Cup's Defensive MVP after saving a penalty kick in the draw with Duquesne to preserve the shutout, his first career clean sheet. He also made a pair of key saves in overtime when the Big Red was short a man. Moller made 13 stops and posted a .916 save percentage in the tournament. … Earlier in the season, Moller earned a spot in the Cornell record books, making 11 saves in his collegiate debut, a 1-0 loss to Lehigh. The 11 stops were tied for second-most in a single game by a Big Red keeper over the past 15 years.

HECK YEAH
Junior midfielder Madison Heck was chosen as the CU Inaria Cup's Offensive MVP after converting a penalty kick against Air Force to send the game to overtime. He also took the free kick that led to the Falcons' own goal and earned the Big Red the victory. Heck provided energy off the bench and helped ignite the Big Red attack throughout the tournament.

ABOUT HEAD COACH JARO ZAWISLAN
Zawislan, now in his seventh season at the helm of Big Red men's soccer, posted a winning record for four consecutive seasons entering 2015, earning him a spot among the top coaches in the Ivy League.  He has led Cornell to 10+ wins in two of the past three seasons and also directed the Big Red to its first Ivy League title since 1995 and first outright title since 1977 in 2012. The Class of 2015, under Zawislan, posted the second-most career wins (41) of any senior class in program history. Heading into 2015, Zawislan held a 51-29-10 coaching record at Cornell, good for a .622 winning percentage, the second best in school history … Zawislan is a graduate of Clemson University '93, where he was a four-year starter in goal. Before pursuing a career in coaching, he played professionally both in the United States and his native Poland. After spending time as an assistant coach at Stanford, Creighton and Syracuse, Zawislan was named Cornell's 11th head coach in 2009.

ABOUT DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth currently sits in first place in the Ivy League, a perfect 5-0, but fell out of the NSCAA poll this week after being ranked No. 24 last week. The Big Green's conference contests, however, have all been decided by just one goal. Dartmouth opened Ancient Eight play with a 1-0 win over Princeton before beating last-place Yale and tied-for-sixth Penn by the same score. The Big Green topped Columbia, 2-1, then needed overtime to defeat Harvard, 1-0, on Oct. 31. Out of conference, Dartmouth lost to Colgate, 1-0, on Sept. 11, and took a pair of losses on a west coast trip to Washington (3-2) and Seattle (2-1), but defeated Holy Cross in double overtime and took commanding wins over Albany and Hofstra and beat Northeastern, 2-0, this past Tuesday. … The Big Green has yet to allow a goal in the first half. … Freshman Eduvie Ikoba has the team points lead with four goals and three asissts, while classmate Amadu Kunateh has come up in big moments, with all four of his goals coming as game-winners. Sophomore Matt Danilack has three goals. … Senior goalkeeper Stefan Cleveland (7-2-1) has spent the most time in goal, posting a .878 save percentage and an impressive 0.58 goals-against average.

THE SERIES WITH DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth's 3-0 win over the Big Red last October at Berman Field improved the Big Green to 35-28-5 over Cornell all-time. The last time the Big Red made the trip to Hanover, N.H., Cornell edged Dartmouth, 1-0. In 2012, the Big Green nearly spoiled the Big Red's Ivy title run, scoring first before Cornell tied it in regulation and netted the game-winner in overtime.

UP NEXT
The Big Red plays its final game of the season at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 when Columbia travels to Berman Field for a Senior Day matchup.
