LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- In the program's first ever trip to Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Nationals, Cornell equestrian placed seventh out of 16 teams this weekend in Louisville, Kentucky.
Erica Alfiero started the competition with an honorable mention finish in Novice Fences before
Claira Seely added a fourth-place finish in Novice Flat.
Vaughan Shanley placed ninth in Collegiate Intermediate Flat and
Shana Coffey finished 10
th in Intermediate Fences.
On Saturday,
Amanda Symons had a strong ride in Individual Walk Trot to finish third.
Callie Boozer added a Reserve Champion finish in Collegiate Walk Trot, while
Tamara Thompson also earned honorable mention in the event.
Meridith Meyer was named an honorable mention in Open Flat and
Chelsea Huss finished fifth in Collegiate Open Fences.
Cornell equestrian alumna Emily Kowalchik took home champion honors in Alumni Fences.
The Big Red's strong finish at Nationals concludes a successful season that included a regional regular season championship and Reserve Champion finishes in Zone 2 and the Ivy League.
