QUICK HITS
• Cornell is ranked 17th nationally in the latest NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
• Cornell's streak of 92 consecutive Ivy League dual wins and 17 straight Ivy League titles ended last weekend following a 19-13 loss at #16 Princeton.
• Sophomore Ben Darmstadt (22-5) is now ranked #3 at 197 pounds via FloWrestling after he defeated then #3 Patrick Brucki of Princeton, 11-3, last Sunday.
• Cornell has two wrestlers ranked in the Top 5 of their respective weight classes (Chas Tucker #5 - 133 pounds, Ben Darmstadt #3 - 197 pounds).
• Three members of the Cornell squad are taking Olympic redshirt years and will miss the 2019-20 season - Vito Arujau (125), Yianni Diakomihalis (141) and Max Dean (184). Each was an All-American in 2018-19, with Diakomihalis winning the national title and Dean the national runner-up.
• Returning from Olympic redshirt is Andrew Berreyesa (174), who is 7-2 on the season with four dual wins and a 3-1 record in tournaments.
• Three NCAA qualifiers return for the 2019-20 season — Chas Tucker (133), Brandon Womack (174) and Ben Darmstadt (197).
• Womack (2017) and Darmstadt (2018) represent the two former All-Americans in the line-up.
• Womack has been out of commission since the end of December, but hopes to return to the mat for Cornell by the end of the season.
• Cornell head coach Rob Koll became the eighth Big Red coach in any sport to hit the 300-win plateau during the 2018-19 season.

HEAD COACH ROB KOLL

• Cornell head coach Rob Koll is in his 27th season at Cornell (315-100-5, .756; 125-9-1 Ivy, .929)
• He is the David R. Dunlop '59 Head Coach of Wrestling at Cornell
• The all-time winningest wrestling coach in program history, Koll has guided the Big Red to 20 Ivy League titles, 11 EIWA crowns and eight top five NCAA team finishes, including second twice (2010, 2011)
• He was the 2005 NWCA Division I Coach of the Year and the Dan Gable Coach of the Year
• His wrestlers have won 16 national titles with 71 All-Americans and 64 individual EIWA champions

ABOUT BINGHAMTON
• Binghamton is 3-10 in dual meets this season and is 2-8 against EIWA opponents.
• Binghamton has lost 9 of its last 10 duals, with the lone win coming over Harvard on Jan. 25, 20-18.
• The Bearcats have been bit by the injury bug this season, forfeiting multiple weights at times during duals.
• 184-pounder Lou DePrez is the only Binghamton wrestlers ranked by FloWrestling, coming in at #5.
• 133-pounder Zack Trampe is ranked by several publications, coming in at #9 on InterMat.
• DePrez has had an impressive season for the Bearcats, owning a 20-5 record with signature wins over Trent Hidlay, Nino Bonaccorsi and Taylor Venz.
• A national qualifier a year ago, Trampe recently returned to action for Binghamton and is 8-0 for the season. Trampe is 4-0 in duals and made his return to the lineup against American on Feb. 1.
• Also with winning records for Binghamton are Anthony Sparacio at 141 pounds (18-10), Jacob Nolan at 165 pounds (12-11) and Joe Doyle at heavyweight (16-11). Sparacio is a two-time NCAA qualifier.

ABOUT #8 NORTH CAROLINA
• North Carolina is 11-2 for the season and ranks #8 nationally in the latest NWCA Coaches Poll released on Feb. 11.
• UNC will wrestle Pittsburgh in ACC action on Friday night prior to arriving in Ithaca for its dual against the Big Red.
• Recently defeated by in-state rival NC State, 19-14, in a dual that came down to the heavyweight bout.
• The Tarheels have four wrestlers ranked by FloWrestling, led by Austin O'Connor who ranks #3 at 149 pounds.
• Zach Sherman ranks #11 at 141 pounds, Kennedy Monday is #15 at 165 pounds and A.C. Headlee is #16 at 157 pounds.
• Kennedy Monday is the brother of Princeton's highly-ranked Quincy Monday and the son of 3x Olympian Kenny Monday, a gold medalist at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
• O'Connor has been as good as anyone this season, owning a 19-1 record, with his lone loss coming to Iowa's Pat Lugo.
• A one-time NCAA qualifier, Sherman is 22-4  in his second season with the Tar Heels.
• A.C. Headlee is a two-time NCAA qualifier and is 14-6 this season.
• Also notable for North Carolina are Joey Melendez (10-5), Jamie Hernandez (13-7), Clay Lautt (15-6), Joey Mazzara (16-11), Brandon Whitman (11-11) and Andrew Gunning (10-9).

CORNELL TO HONOR SENIORS AGAINST BINGHAMTON
• Cornell will honor its 11 seniors prior to the dual against Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 15.
• Being honored are Noah Baughman, Milik Dawkins, Jacob Lehr, Ian McNitt, Jimmy Overhiser, Max Pickett, Rami Pellumbi, Mike Russo, Chris Schoenherr, Chas Tucker and Brandon Womack.
• Baughman, Dawkins, Schoenherr, Tucker and Womack have all appeared in duals for Cornell throughout their careers. Baughman, Tucker and Womack have all been consistent starters throughout their Big Red careers.
• Womack leads the class with 88 career victories (88-37), while Tucker has the best winning percentage with a 76-18 career mark. Noah Baughman owns a 69-34 career record.

CORNELL WRESTLING ADDS THREE TO HALL OF FAME
• Cornell wrestling is set to induct Carl Keske, Jamie Moffatt and Bob Whalen for their contributions to the sport both on and off the mat.
• Keske was a U.S. Army captain within the 44th Signal Battalion stationed in Manheim, Germany before passing away too soon on June 21, 2001. In 1997, Keske earned Academic All-American honors and placed seventh in the 134-pound weight class at the NCAA championships. Keske was previously inducted into the Cornell Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007.
• Moffatt is an award-winning author and a long-time advocate for the advancement of women's wrestling. Moffatt is most known for his books, A Turning Point – stories from the 1953 NCAA wrestling tournament, Wrestlers at the Trials and Wrestle Like a Girl. Wrestlers at the Trials won the 2007 Publication of the Year award from the National Wrestling Media Association.
• Since graduating from Cornell, Whalen has made it a point to hire wrestlers as a way to give back to the sport. Whalen served as an assistant wrestling coach at Cedar Cliff High School in Pennsylvania from 2000-2004 and was the youth wrestling Head Coach from 2004-2012.

ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BINGHAMTON/NORTH CAROLINA
• Cornell has never lost to Binghamton, owning an 8-0 all-time record against the Bearcats dating back to the 1971-72 season.
• The Big Red own a 6-1 series advantage over North Carolina dating back to the 1992-93 season. Cornell has won each of the last five meetings between the two teams.

LAST TIME VS. BINGHAMTON/NORTH CAROLINA
• Cornell defeated Binghamton in the season opener last year, 36-6, with the lone loss coming via forfeit at 125 pounds. The Big Red got wins from Vito Arujau, Chas Tucker, Hunter Richard, Fredy Stroker, Milik Dawkins, Brandon Womack, Max Dean, Ben Honis and Brendan Furman.
• Cornell bested North Carolina on the road in 2019, 29-5. Vito Arujau, Chas Tucker, Yianni Diakomihalis, Adam Santoro, Andrew Berreyesa, Brandon Womack, Max Dean, Ben Honis and Jeramy Sweany all earned wins for the Big Red.

LAST TIME OUT
• Cornell wrestling saw its streak of 17 consecutive Ivy League championships snapped on Sunday, Feb. 9, as the Big Red was defeated by #16 Princeton, 19-13, at Jadwin Gymnasium.
• Also broken was Cornell's streak of 92 straight Ivy League dual victories that dated back to the 2001-02 season. Over the course of "The Streak," Cornell went an impressive 89-0 against conference opponents, with Penn as its closest competitor at 59-30 since the 2002-03 season.
• Cornell got wins from Brendan Furman, Chas Tucker, Noah Baughman and Ben Darmstadt, but dropped critical swing matches at 165, 174 and 184.

THE ASSASSIN

• Despite wrestling just two matches since Jan. 11, Cornell sophomore 197-pounder, Ben Darmstadt, is currently in second place for the NCAA Division lead in wins by fall with 12 in the time span of 20:33.
• Darmstadt trails Central Michigan heavyweight, Matt Stencel, who has 13 wins by fall on the season, needing 25:33 to do so. Close behind Darmstadt is Northern Iowa's Jacob Schwarm with 11 pins.
• Ranking #10 via FloWrestling last week, Darmstadt upset Princeton's Patrick Brucki, 11-3, to vault himself up to #3 in the FloWrestling rankings this week.
• Darmstadt owns a 9-1 record at 197 pounds this season, with his lone loss coming via injury forfeit in a match he was winning handily.

SUCCESS AGAINST THE BEST
• Chas Tucker is 9-0 against ranked (by FloWrestling) opponents this season.
• Tucker owns ranked wins over Jarrett Trombley (NC State), Montorie Bridges (Wyoming) x2, Collin Gerardi (Virginia Tech) x2, Garrett Pepple (Michigan State), Allan Hart (Missouri), Nick Farro (Lehigh) and Sammy Alvarez (Rutgers).
• Tucker's 3-2 victory over Sammy Alvarez snapped a streak of nine-straight wins by the Scarlet Knights freshman.
• Tucker has conceded just two takedowns all season and hasn't been brought down since the dual against Lehigh on Jan. 11.
• Tucker has won 35 straight regular season bouts dating back to the Lehigh dual on Jan. 12, 2019. Tucker's last regular season loss came against Missouri's John Erneste on Dec. 30, 2018.

THE STREAKS
• Cornell has placed in the top 10 at the NCAA championships in 15 of the last 17 seasons following the first top 10 season of the Rob Koll era (2002-03).
• The Big Red has crowned at least one EIWA champion in each of the last 18 seasons and in 28 of the last 29 years.
• The Big Red is 66-5 (.940) in its last 69 duals against current EIWA competitors dating back to 2010-11.
• Cornell is 114-7-1 (.944) in dual meet action against current EIWA teams dating back to 2004-05, including 102-1 against teams other than Lehigh.
• Head coach Rob Koll's teams racked up 17 Ivy League titles in a row from 2002-03 through 2018-19, the longest title streak in any sport in conference history.
• Cornell won 92 consecutive Ivy League dual meets from Feb.9, 2002 to Feb. 8, 2020
• Cornell is 127-29-1 (.814) in dual meet competition in the last 10 seasons.
• The Big Red is 58-12-1 (.824) in home duals dating back to the 2009-10 season.
• Big Red wrestling is 98-1 in dual meets (.990) against unranked teams dating back to the beginning of the 2007-08 season - the lone loss coming last season in a 20-16 defeat to North Dakota State at the South Beach Duals that snapped a 77-match win streak against unranked opponents.
• Cornell has won 37 straight meets against New York state opponents.
• Cornell has put three or more wrestlers on the NCAA podium for 17 straight seasons, dating back to 2003.

TEAM NOTES TO KNOW
• Cornell's 17 straight Ivy League titles built on the Big Red's record of consecutive Ivy titles by the same team in a sport. The wrestling team won four more than Cornell had in men's gymnastics (from 1967-68 to 1976-77) and men's lacrosse (1973-74 to 1982-83), as well as Princeton in men's lacrosse (1994-95 to 2003-04).
• Every four-year member of the Cornell wrestling team who has enrolled since 1980 has won at least one Ivy League title during their career.
• Cornell went 43-7 in individual Ivy matches in 2018-19, its best showing since going 43-6 during the 2010-11 campaign.
• Head coach Rob Koll became the eighth Big Red coach in any sport to reach 300 career victories with a win at Brown on Jan. 26, 2019 and now sports a 315-100-5 record in dual meets.
• Since the Friedman Wrestling Center opened in January of 2003, the Big Red is 80-15-1 in dual matches (.838) there.
