John Reif Run Results
ITHACA, N.Y. – The Cornell women's cross country team competed in front of its home fans for the only time this season and had some excellent finishes at the 26th annual John Reif Memorial Run at the Moakley Course on Friday afternoon.
The Big Red, running a five-kilometer race against athletes from Syracuse, Niagara and Cortland, were led by
Kelsey Karys who took fourth place in 18:482. Karys finished just eight seconds ahead of teammate
Dale Kinney in fifth.
The race, which was not scored, saw 54 women take part. Cornell had 10 of the top 16 finishers overall.
Christine Driscoll helped add to that impressive number as she took seventh in a time of 19:20.2. A Syracuse runner took eighth, but after her was three Big Red runners:
Maggi Szpak (ninth, 19:21.1),
Corey Dowe (10th, 19:31.4) and
Elizabeth Simpson (11th, 19:34.4).
A quartet of Cornell runners rounded out the top 16 by finishing in a cluster of four.

Cara Costich,
Suzana Markolovic had 14 seconds between them as they took 13th through 16th, respectively.

Cornell's next meet will be the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship at the West Windsor Fields in Princeton, N.J. The Big Red women are the defending Heps champions.
