HANOVER, N.H. – The women's tennis team won the doubles point and a pair of singles matches on Saturday, but ultimately lost a 4-3 match at Dartmouth – which shared the league title last season.

Despite two Ivy League losses, the Big Red doubles team of junior Christine Ordway and sophomore Ryann Young was 2-0 on the weekend. The tandem was competing at the No. 2 position for the second straight day, securing an 8-6 victory over the Big Green team of Janet Liu and Rachel Decker-Sadowski. Junior Sarah O'Neil and freshman Lauren Frazier also won the No. 1 match, 8-4, to give Cornell (8-7, 0-3 Ivy League) the first point of the match.

Young then improved to 12-2 on the season in singles play, defeating Liu at No. 3 in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. The Big Red's other point came at No. 2 from Ordway, who won the match's only three-set tilt against Akiko Okuda, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1. Dartmouth improved to 7-9 and evened its league record at 1-1 after a 4-3 loss to Columbia in its Ivy opener on Friday.

The Big Red will look to break its three-match losing streak next weekend when it returns home after a long stretch of six straight matches on the road. Cornell will host Brown at noon Friday, April 14 and Yale at noon Saturday, April 15 at Reis Tennis Center.
