UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Cornell posted seven top 10 individual finished and Lexi Schupp posted the fourth-best day in the all-around in school history as the Big Red finished third at the Penn State quad meet. Cornell went for a season high 191.000.
Schupp scored a 38.425 in the all-around, a career best and the fourth-highest score in school history. It was the highest all-around score for a Big Red gymnast since 2009 when Maddie Pearsall hit 38.600. She finished tied for eighth on floor at 9.725 along with teammate
Mackenzie Sato.
Alicia Bair scored a 9.825 on vault to finish tied for second and was the lone non-Penn State gymnast in the top four.
Madeline Martinez wasn't far behind with her 9.775, good for seventh. The Big Red's top finisher on bars was
Melanie Jorgensen in seventh at 9.775, the lone Big Red gymnast to post a top 10 score on the apparatus. Jorgensen was also eighth on beam at 9.575 and was joined in the top 10 by
Maia Vernacchia (9.550) in 10th.
Cornell returns to action in a dual meet at Cortland on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 3 p.m.
