HANOVER, N.H. — The women's tennis team started it dual-match season with a 5-2 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday morning in the Kick Off Classic at Dartmouth's Boss Tennis Center.

Alexandra D'Ascenzo to win the No. 2 doubles match, then went on to defeat Naomi Tran in No. 3 singles, 7-6(3), 6-2. Mississippi State (1-0) won the other two doubles matches to capture the day's first point. After Cusick's singles victories, the Big Red's second point came from
Kristin Quill's win at No. 6 singles in a super tiebreaker.
Cornell wraps up the weekend against either Dartmouth or Brown on Sunday.
