PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Cornell women's swimming and diving team closed out its 2017 dual meet schedule with a 200-100 loss to Brown on Saturday afternoon at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center . The Big Red head into championship season with a 4-6 dual meet record (2-5 Ivy).
Currie Murch Elliot won the 1,000 free (10:15.43) by nearly six seconds and the 400 IM (4:25.36) by a full tick and
Shoshana Swell (23.58) touched first in the 50 free, but the Bears used their superior depth to claim the dual meet win.
Currie Murch Elliot also grabbed second in the 500 free (5:00.25) and Swell finished second in the 100 free (51.35).
Hannah Bollinger was the runner-up in the 200 free (1:53.13),
Helen Hsu touched second in the 100 back (57.04),
Billy Murch Elliot clocked a 1:04.97 in the 100 breast and a 2:05.09 in the 200 back, Kimmy Vitek took second in the 3-meter dive (247.50) and Jackie Real reached the podium in the 1-meter dive (second, 244.43).
The Big Red return to the pool for the Ivy League Championships from Feb. 16-18 at Brown.
