ROCHESTER, N.Y. –
Vaughan Shanley was the high point rider at the Nazareth Show on Sunday, while the Cornell equestrian team finished as the high point team. This marks the fourth time this season that equestrian has earned the high point team status, while it finished as the reserve high point team the other two.
Shanley placed first in both the open fences and the open flat.
Also competing in the open fences and the open flat were
Emily Selland who took third place,
Sophie Harlam who placed fourth and
Lena Reeb who placed fifth in both events.
In the intermediate fences
Haley Harder rode to a first place finish.
In her intermediate flat debut,
Emma Mayer earned a first place finish. Also riding in the intermediate flat was Harder, who took second in her class.
Katherine Caracappa and
Jada Davis placed second in the novice fences, while
Sam Levkulic and
Stephanie Introne place fourth in their classes. This marked Introne's first-ever ride in the novice fences.
In the novice flat Levkulic and
Mackenzie Raucher placed first in their classes. Levkulic qualified for regionals with her performance, while Raucher won in her novice flat debut.
Madeline Kinnear placed third in her class.
Indigo Pavlov earned a first place finish in the walk trot canter. Miriam Khan placed third and
Catherine Thrasher earned a fourth place finish in her IHSA debut.
In the walk trot
Jenna Toor and
Mariangel Rivera each placed first in their respective classes.
Hannah Braun and Ellie Espinoza rode to second and third place finishes respectively
The Big Red has nearly a three-month hiatus before it returns to action with the Alfred show on Feb. 16.
