QUECHEE, Vt. — Senior
Brandon Eng is in eighth place individually after Saturday's first round of the Quechee Club Collegiate Challenge. Eng shot an even-par 72 on the 6,840-yard Highland Course to lead the Cornell golf team, which sits in a tie for 11th place heading into Sunday's final round of the Dartmouth-hosted event.
Eng is five strokes behind individual leader John Lazor, of Dartmouth. Rhode Island's Billy Walthouse is one shot behind, and Dartmouth's Dylan Rusk and Hartford's Evan Russell are tied for third at 3-under par. It's not the first time Eng has enjoyed success at the Quechee Club. Competing as an individual during his junior season in 2014, Eng finished eighth in the medalist hunt — his best career finish. This year's tournament wraps up on the Lakeland Course on Sunday.
Dartmouth leads the team competition with a total of 3-under par 285 after the first day. That's five shots clear of defending champion Harvard. Cornell came in with a team score of 22-over par 310. Junior
