ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 20 Cornell women's rowing team won three of five races vs. Dartmouth, including the varsity eight race, to win back the Parents Cup this morning on the Cayuga Lake Inlet. The Big Red has now won four of the last five Parents Cups, after the Big Green halted a three-race Cornell win streak a year ago.
 
The Big Red kicked off the morning with an open water victory in the varsity 4A, crossing the line in a time of 7:39.8, 11.1 seconds ahead of the Big Green.
 
The race for the Parents Cup was up next and the results were similar with Cornell winning by open water in a time of 6:44.7, exactly 14 seconds ahead of Dartmouth.
 
The Big Green got its first win of the day in the second varsity eight, edging Cornell by just over four seconds, but the Big Red responded with another dominant win in the third varsity eight, besting the visitors by just over 10 seconds.
 
Dartmouth capped a great morning of racing by edging Cornell in the varsity 4B.
 
The Big Red will have two weeks to prepare for the Ivy League Women's Rowing Championship, which will take place Sunday, May 17 on the Cooper River in Pensauken, N.J.
