HANOVER, N.H. -- The Cornell women's swimming and diving opened the 2016-17 season with a dual meet split on Saturday afternoon at Dartmouth's Karl Michael Pool. The Big Red topped the Big Green 188-111 and fell to Ivy power Harvard 198-94.
Cornell's top two 200 medley relays topped Dartmouth to open the meet, while
Hannah Bollinger,
Chloe Mikles and
Anna Elling led a 1-2-3 sweep of the Big Green in the 200 free.
Helen Hsu finished a close second overall in both the 100 and 200 back while winning the 200 IM, while
Jordan Silbert was the runner-up in the 200 fly in 2:07.39.
Ellie Belilos (24.17) and
Cari Stankaitis (24.28) were 2-3 overall in the 50 free, while Mikles,
Sarah Baturka and Stankaitis ran 1-2-3 against Dartmouth in the 100 free. The Big Red closed the meet by placing second overall and defeating Dartmouth in the 400 free relay.
The Big Red continues Ivy League dual meet competition and opens its home schedule when Penn and Princeton visit Teagle Pool this weekend. Diving will be held on Friday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m., with swimming commencing on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m.
