He won the EIWA 167-lb. championship in 1974, defeating the defending champion on the way to the crown. Was seeded 7th going into the NCAA championships in '74 and was defeated in the preliminary round. Compiled three-year career dual meet record of 42-4-1: 17-2-1 in 1974; 15-1-0 (5 pins) in '73 and 10-1-0 regular season record as soph. He finished sixth at 167 pounds at the Easterns in both 1972 and 1973. He was a three-time unanimous All-Ivy first-team selection (at 177 in 1973 and '74 (unanimous) and at 167 in 1972). Co-captained 1972-73 team. He was the recipient of the Peter J. Floros Award three straight years as team's most outstanding wrestler--one of only four Big Red wrestlers who was a three-time recipient of that award. He helped the team to the Ivy title in 1973 and 1974 and a fourth-place finish at the Easterns in 1974.
