During his three years with the varsity lacrosse team, Cornell compiled an overall record of 42-1, won two NCAA championships (1976-1977) and was NCAA runner-up once (1978). He was an All-America first-team selection as an attackman in 1978, after earning second team honors in 1977 and honorable mention as a sophomore midfielder. He was named to the All-Ivy first team as a senior and was a second team pick his junior year. He ranks ninth on Cornell's all-time scoring list with 137 points and is tied for sixth in career goals with 92. He was tri-captain of the team his senior year. Marino graduated from Massapequa (N.Y.) High School.
