He has served Cornell as a stellar athlete, very successful coach and ambitious administrator. As a goalie he led the freshman hockey team to a perfect 11-0 record. He won the starting job on a youthful varsity squad as a sophomore and earned wide acclaim for keeping Cornell in several close contests. He was awarded with the Nicky Bawlf most valuable player award following that season. AS a junior he won All-Ivy honors and helped Cornell to its best record (13-5) since 1910, allowing just 2.50 goals per game. The highlight of that season was his incredible 2-1 winning performance in Lynah Rink against previously unbeaten Harvard. He again was voted the team’s most valuable player. As senior captain he became the first person to win the MV award for the third year and tied for first team All-Ivy honors. He coached the Cornell freshman hockey team from 1972-75, winning 46 and losing just four. Administratively he was assistant to the Dean in the Ag College for several years. He then became director of Regional Offices.
