An outstanding athlete and friend of Cornell athletics, he was a starting left guard on the 1921 undefeated (8-0) football team. In addition to his play on the gridiron, he rowed with the varsity crew as a sophomore. His appreciation for the challenge in striving for excellence, and his deep love for Cornell has prompted his generous support for the athletic program. He gave funds for the Brayman-Grasselli Conditioning Room, which was dedicated in 1978 and is located in Schoellkopf Hall, to ensure that today’s athletes have the best possible preparation for their sport. As an undergraduate he resided in Walton, N.Y.
