Cornell University Athletics

For 41 years, she was the constant in the sports information/athletic communications office. Her title was administrative assistant, but she became much more after being hired by the late Ben Mintz in 1964. He Big Red sports knowledge is fantastic and she became the athletic department historian. Harkness was the point-person for historical information about Cornell Athletics. Her office editorial and proofreading prowess was par excellence. She worked with the Athletic Hall of Fame from its inception, researching and writing biographies, from 1978 until her retirement in 2005.
