All-Ivy lst team at 190 lbs., 8-4 overall record in wrestling as frosh. Did not compete again until senior year (he was training for Olympic kyaking) when he went 7-0 overall and 5-0 Ivy; named to All-Ivy 2nd team. World-class competitor in kyaking. Placed 4th at '84 Olympics in 1,000m. doubles; won gold medal in 2-man kyak at '87 Pan Am Games. Swept doubles at US Nationals and won bronze in 500m at World Championships, 1985. Recipient of Southland Olympia Award (sanctioned by USOC), given to recognize & reward amateur athletes who combine skill on the field and excellence in academics with a commitment to their sport, 1986.
