Hall of Fame
Considered one of the best runners in Cornell track history, he won the National AAU 1000-yard championship (2:13.9) in 1949. He won the indoor Heptagonal 1000 title in 1949, and captured the outdoor Heps 880 championship in1949 and again in '51. After a third-place finish in the 880-yard run, he went on to run a 46.8 anchor leg on the mile relay team that placed a close second to NYU at the IC4A championships in 1949. As a senior he won the outdoor IC4A 880-yard run, and anchored Cornell's mile relay team to a school and Penn Relays record (3:13.1). He was a member of the freshman cross country team in '47. He co-captained the track team in 1951 He is a graduate of Malverne (N.Y.) High School.
