O'Rourke was a first-team All-American at guard by the New York Evening Telegram, the Philadelphia Evening Star and the Washington Herald, as well as a second-team Walter Camp pick at tackle in 1908. He also took home All-America accolades in 1907. He lettered in 1905, 1906, 1907 and 1908.
