Meng was a force on the left flank for the Big Red during its heyday during the late 40’s and early 50’s. He was a creative force as a wing back, while also showing a powerful finishing touch. He finished tied for the team lead with four goals to help the squad to a 6-1-1 mark in 1949, earning Second Team All-American selection. In 1950, he transitioned to more of a holding role, finding the back of the net once. He helped the squad to a 4-2-2 record, while earning Second Team All-America honors for the second straight season.
