A second-team All-American in 2023 after his 15th-place finish at the Indoor NCAA Championships, Kersulis claimed four Heps titles (200 and 500 meters indoors, 400 meters and 4x400 relay outdoors) as a junior and is a five-time runner-up. Kersulis set the Cornell and Ivy League record in the 400-meter dash (45.78) in 2023, a mark that ranked in the top 15 in the world at the time. He missed a majority of the outdoor season his senior year with an injury. Kersulis later competed as a graduate student at Virginia Tech, helping the Hokies to a win in the distance medley relay at the ACC Indoor Championships and qualifying for the NCAA championships in both the DMR (seventh) and the 4x400 relay (ninth) - earning All-America honors with both squads. He advanced to the NCAA East First Round in the 400m as well as both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays
