He was a two-year letter winner in soccer as fullback, in 1933 when Cornell was runner-up for the league title, and in 1934 when Cornell won the league title outright. He was an All-America second-team selection in 1934. He captained the ski team in 1935. He was also a discus thrower in track but did not earn a letter. (Early Cornell records show his last name as Adler, not Adlerbert, as later HOF nominating correspondence and Alumni News Magazine articles indicate.)
