Nathanson was a feared striker for the Big Red squads of the mid-1930’s. Blessed with speed and a powerful shot, he was a dynamic presence for Cornell on attack. He helped the program to its first league championship and undefeated season in 1934. He was one of the lone top players that did not graduate from the league championship squad. He helped the squad to a 6-1 mark in 1935, earning Second Team All-America honors.
