Jaso was an outstanding two-way guard on Cornell's Ivy League championship teams of 1948 and '49. A four-year letterman, he received honorable mention All-America honors by the United Press in 1949, when Cornell finished the campaign as the No. 12-ranked team in the nation. He was a key reserve who played effectively in 1945 and 1946. He returned to the squad in 1948 after a year's absence and won the starting right side guard assignment in the early workouts. His quickness as a pulling guard opened the field for the offense and helped the Big Red to identical 8-1 records in 1948 and '49, as Cornell outscored its opponents 224-112 in '48 and 284-111 in '49.
