Edelman earned NCAA All-America second team honors after placing 13th in the outdoor 10,000 meters at the 2011 championship meet. He was a the runner-up at 5,000 meters both indoors and outdoors in 2011 and was fourth in the outdoor Heps at 10,000 meters his senior year. Edelman placed sixth at the NCAA East Preliminary Round at 10K.
