He was also a two-time Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association champion, capturing the 134-1b. title in 1992 and again in 1993, when he helped Cornell win its second consecutive EIWA team championship. Fergeson was named first-team All-Ivy each of his four seasons at Cornell, becoming just the fifth Ivy wrestler to earn first-team All-Ivy accolades four times. Fergeson, who was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year in 1990, was also one of only three Ivy League wrestlers to be named Ivy Wrestler of the Year twice. The three-time team MVP finished his Cornell career with a school record 134 wins against only 19 losses. The two-time New York State Wrestler of the Year was the recipient of the John Fletcher Memorial Trophy, given to the senior wrestler who has made the greatest contributions to the team in the EIWA tournament. He was the Cornell Daily Sun Senior Athlete of the Year in 1993 and was a two-time GTE Academic All-American (third team in 1992, first team in 1993).
