A versatile and creative player, he was an integral part of the fledgling program, which had its inaugural season in 1908. Collado was moved throughout the Cornell formation throughout his four-year career; however, he was at his best in the defensive third. A tenacious and aggressive tackler, he excelled at stymieing opponents advances, while also showing a penchant for getting into an advanced position on attack. He helped the program to its first ever victory, a 2-1 triumph over Harvard in the final game of the 1909 season. He was named a Second Team All-American selection on defense at the conclusion of the season.
