Paranjpe was named to the College Squash Association All-America Second Team at the conclusion of her freshman season in 2009, when she concluded the season ranked 20th in the country. Paranjpe competed at the top three spots in the lineup with an overall record of 8-6. At the team's postseason banquet, she was presented the Match of the Year award for her five-set victory over Stanford 's Katie Brewster in the Howe Cup consolation semifinals. The victory against the Cardinal allowed the Big Red to move up to sixth in the national rankings by season's end. She went on to win a match in the quarterfinals of the Ramsay Cup consolation bracket at the CSA Individual Championships.
