A two-time NCAA All-American, Darmstadt was a two-time EIWA champion and first-team All-Ivy League pick. In two seasons prior to COVID-19 and then injuries that shortened his career, he posted a 62-10 record with 32 wins coming by fall, good for ninth all-time. The 2017-18 New York State champion, he finished sixth at NCAAs that season at 197 pounds and was ranked No. 1 in the country during the year. Darmstadt won 31 consecutive matches at one point. His 2019-20 season was cut short due to COVID, but the NWCA named him an All-American.
