Crosby was a dual-sport athlete for the Big Red, playing on both the varsity soccer and varsity ice hockey teams. He was a three year letterman in hockey; however, his best sport was soccer as he earned First Team All-American selection as a center forward in 1938. He helped the squad to a 3-8-6 mark over his two varsity seasons. He was also a member of the Seal and Serpent fraternity and he belonged to several Honorary Musical Clubs. A skilled musician, he played in the ROTC Band during his first two years, while he was a member of the University Orchestra during his final three seasons.
