Bush finished in fifth at the 1964 NCAA championships at 115 pounds to capture All-America status in front of his home crowd in Ithaca. The weight was not contested at the EIWA meet. Bush lettered in both 1963 and 1964 and posted an 11-6-1 record with five pins.
